Custom Architectural Lighting & OEM Manufacturing

TPK Lighting supports custom architectural lighting projects for contractors, distributors and project partners who need more than a standard fixture. We customise structure, optics, electrical configuration and OEM branding based on project requirements, target market and certification needs.

Who this page is for

  • Projects where standard beam angle, housing colour or bracket design is not suitable
  • Distributors or brands looking for OEM architectural lighting manufacturing in China
  • Bridge, facade, landmark, urban and stadium projects with control or mounting constraints
  • Teams that need engineering feedback before locking the fixture specification
What TPK can customise

Four dimensions of custom engineering

Most custom architectural lighting projects involve two or more of the following areas. This structure also helps your team define the requirement more clearly before sample development starts.

01
Housing & structure

Form, finish & mounting

Used when the fixture must match the facade material, bridge railing condition or non-standard installation space.

  • RAL powder coat colour matching, including textured and metallic finishes
  • Custom housing length, width or height based on base model feasibility
  • Non-standard bracket design for railings, glass facade or curved surfaces
  • Flush-mount and surface-mount variants where standard back-box mounting is not possible
  • Custom cable entry position and gland size
02
Optical design

Light distribution & effect

Used when the surface effect, throw distance or glare control requirement cannot be met by a standard optic.

  • Beam angle modification from narrow spot to wide flood
  • Asymmetric, elliptical or rectangular distribution for special surfaces
  • Custom lens selection for bridge, facade or walkway applications
  • Anti-glare shields, louvre options and flush-lens optimisation
  • Specific CCT requirements or mixed CCT configuration
03
Electrical & control

Power, dimming & protocol

Used when the project needs a different wattage, voltage or control logic to match the existing system architecture.

  • Intermediate wattage variants between standard models
  • AC or low-voltage configurations such as 12VDC, 24VDC and 48VDC
  • DMX512, DALI-2, 0-10V, PWM or other protocol adaptation
  • Custom DMX channel mapping and programming logic
  • Long cable run support with signal conditioning or amplifier planning
04
OEM & branding

Your brand, our manufacturing

Used by distributors and lighting brands that need a reliable OEM architectural lighting manufacturer behind their own product line.

  • Product label, laser marking and model naming under your brand
  • Custom packaging for retail, channel or project delivery
  • Branded spec sheets, installation guides and technical documents
  • Support for ETL, CE and project documentation alignment
  • Exclusive product development under agreed OEM terms
Custom engineering process

From requirement brief to delivered product

We use a fixed development path to reduce ambiguity, align scope early and avoid unnecessary sample revisions. Typical timelines vary by complexity, certification scope and quantity.

1
Day 1–3

Requirement review

Send the application, target market, quantity estimate, installation condition and any drawings or photos you already have. Even a rough brief is enough to start feasibility review.

Application brief Drawings welcome Certification needs
2
Day 3–8

Technical feasibility proposal

Our team confirms what can be modified, which base product is most suitable, the likely MOQ range, indicative pricing and the expected development route.

Base model selection MOQ estimate Lead time outline
3
Day 8–30

Sample production and evaluation

After technical confirmation, we produce samples for visual, structural and functional review. This stage is where optical effect, finish detail and control behaviour are verified before mass production.

Sample making Optical check Revision if needed
4
Day 30–60

Mass production

After sample approval, production starts under the agreed specification. Standard production controls include electrical testing, optical verification, aging test and project-specific packing preparation.

5
Week 8–10

Delivery and after-sales coordination

Products are delivered under the agreed terms, with documentation and technical follow-up support for installation or commissioning coordination where required.

Common questions

FAQ for custom architectural lighting

These are the questions we receive most often from engineering teams, distributors and OEM buyers.

TPK can customise four main areas: housing and bracket structure, optical distribution, electrical or control configuration, and OEM branding. In practice, many custom LED wall washer or linear light projects combine more than one of these dimensions.
Simple colour or label changes often start from 50–100 units. Structural modifications usually require 100–200 units. Full OEM architectural lighting projects generally start from around 200 units or above, depending on tooling and development scope.
A standard route is requirement review, feasibility proposal, sample production, approval and mass production. Many projects take roughly 8–10 weeks from first brief to first delivery, but timing depends on the complexity of the change and the approval speed at both sides.
In many cases, yes. The exact route depends on whether the custom change affects the certified structure or electrical system. This should be reviewed during the technical proposal stage, especially for North America and Europe projects.
Yes. We support OEM architectural lighting production with custom label, packaging and technical documents. NDA discussion and exclusivity scope can be handled before detailed development work starts.
The most useful inputs are product type, target application, what needs to change, target market, certification requirement, quantity estimate, timeline and any photos or drawings of the installation condition.

Tell us what your project needs

This form is suitable for custom LED wall washer, linear light, spotlight, floodlight and control-related enquiries. When you click submit, the page will prepare an email draft to ES2@topkinglite.com using the information you entered.

Send the requirement even if it is still early stage. A short brief such as “black RAL wall washer for bridge project in Europe, ETL or CE to be confirmed” is already enough for our team to start the first review.

Before you decide

Not every project needs custom development

If a standard product can already meet the beam angle, mounting and control requirement, that route is usually faster and more cost-efficient. We recommend comparing both paths before confirming development scope.
